FUSS Food: Pecan Pie

Welcome to our latest installment of FUSS FOOD where we’ll share our favorite recipes with yall! This one is from Caroline’s grandmother, Della.  This Southern specialty is one of the very few things i can whip up in a pinch, and it always makes everybody super happy!

Pecan Pie

Serves: 4-6

Prep-5 minutes

Cook- 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup Karo syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 9″ deep dish frozen pie shell

 

Directions 

  1. Preheat oven to 400
  2. Beat eggs in a medium sized bowl and add all other ingredients
  3. Pour in shell
  4. Bake 15 Minutes
  5. Reduce heat to 350 and bake 30 minutes
  6. Let cool for a couple hours
  7. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
